A Bronze Age group C beaker was found in a sandpit close to the 13th tee in the south-west corner of Folkestone Golf Course, north of the Pent Stream. It was discovered in many pieces, and was repaired by Folkestone Museum, now standing 6.5 inches high. It is of a hard, well-fired clay, with impresssed herring-bone decoration.

A Bronze Age group C beaker in Folkestone Museum (Acc No.201/1931) was found in a sandpit close to the 13th tee in the south-west corner of Folkestone Golf Course, north of the Pent Stream. It was discovered in many pieces, and was repaired by Folkestone Museum, now standing 6.5 inches high. it is of a hard, well-fired clay, with impresssed herring-bone decoration. (2)

Mr Whiting remembers this find to have been made about 1930 in the small sand pit centred TR 21453702. It is on exhibition in Folkestone Museum. (3)

A watching brief in May 1971 on roadworks uncovered "prehistoric pottery".(7)
