[TR 0931 6474] St. Alphege's Church [NR] (Original chancel as a mortuary chapel) [NAT] (1) St. Alphege's Church [NAT] (2) St. Alphege's Church, Seasalter, has an Early English chancel with a (?) Saxon doorway in the south porch. The nave was demolished in 1845 and the remains used as a mortuary chapel until 1927. In 1956, the chancel was again being used as a church and Sunday School. (3) In normal use. (4) Seasalter Old Church (St Alphege) Grade C, comprises principally the remains of the Early English Chancel of the former parish church. 19th century bell cole.
