Summary

A Beacon at 'Allhallowes' is shown on Lambarde's 'Carde' of c.1570 showing the 52 Beacon sites in Kent. This system dropped out of use after 1640, however part of this Beacon is shown on the Tithe Map of 1839. Nothing remains at the site today.

William Lambarde's 'Carde' of c1570 shows a beacon at 'Allhallowes' and a total of 52 beacons in Kent. The Beacon System dropped out of use after 1640. (1) Beacon Piece is shown at TR 830779 on the Tithe Map of 1839; and there is nothing to be seen on the ground. (2)
