The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HORTON KIRBY DEAN BOTTOM 1. 5280 South Darenth The Old Farmhouse TQ 56 NE 3/170 1.6.67 II GV 2. This is two-thirds of a C15 timber-framed building, of which the south-east end has been demolished. Plaster infilling on the first floor. The ground floor has been rebuilt in red brick. The first floor of the north-west end oversails on the protruding ends of the floor joists and a carved bressumer. The eaves to the right of this, in what was orginally the centre portion, oversail on brackets. The first floor of the demolished portion would have oversailed to match the north-west end. Tiled roof with pentice behind. Casement windows. Two storeys 3 windows. Red brick chimney breast on the north-west wall laid in English Bond.
