ROCHESTER THE PRECINCT TQ 7468 SW 9/194 Section of Roman Wall 20 metres south of former Deanery (King's School Sixth Form Centre) 19.2.70 I Section of wall. Roman, possibly early C3. Coursed rubble, mainly clunch, with much exposed rubble core, with renewed coping and some patching. It extends for about 30 metres and stands about 1.5 metres high.

ROCHESTER THE PRECINCT Section of Roman Wall 20 metres south of former Deanery (King's School Sixth Form Centre-TQ 76 NW 155). Possibly early third century AD. Coursed rubble, mainly clunch, with much exposed rubble core, with renewed coping and some patching. It extends for about 30 metres and stands about 1.5 metres high. LISTED GRADE I. (3)

In 2010 four test pits were opened against the wall in the Old Deanery Garden. Elements of the Roman wall were exposed including a surviving portion of the original face along with rubble core. Numerous medieval repairs and alterations were also seen. (4)
