The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ROCHESTER HIGH STREET TQ 7468 NW 7/60 Chertsey's Gate (Also known as 24.10.50 College Gate and Cemetery Gate) GV I Gateway giving access to Cathedral outer Precinct and lay cemetery from High Street. Probably mid C14 (c.1334 when precinct wall was erected). Lower part of rubble ragstone (with flint banding to front and rear); timber-framed above with renewed weatherboarding. 2 storeys and attic. Kent tiled gable- end roof. To front and rear a wide 4-centred moulded arch with hoodmould, the moulding cut back to ease vehicular access; upper rooms reached by polygonal stair turret to SW. Blocked low arches to both side walls. Unchamfered beam to simple timber ceiling over passage. To front, 1st and attic floors jettied; 2 12-pane unhorned sash window to 1st floor, 2-light casement window to gable wall. Rear with 1st floor jetty only; 16-pane hornless sash window to 1st floor, 2-light casement above. Tiny casement window to Boley Hill elevation. Interior of upper floors not inspected.

HIGH STREET Chertsey's Gate (also known as College Gate and Cemetery Gate). Gateway giving access to cathedral outer precinct and lay cemetery from High Street.
