II
Hall house, now house. Late C15 and early C16. Timber-framed with plaster infilling. Plain tiled roof. Wealden house with hall of one long, or possibly 2,bays, with storeyed bay at either end, that to left longer. 2 storeys with right and left bays jettied and left gable end jettied with moulded dragon- post. Broadly spaced studding with tension braces. Arch braces to flying wall plate and coving between inner and flying wall- plate. Roof hipped with gablet to right and left. Brick stack in front slope of roof, off-centre to left. Irregular fenestration of one small original window opening either side of central post to left bay and one C19 3-light casement to unrestored right hand bay. Restored tall open-hall window to right of hall. C20 Tudor-arched door-head at right end of left end bay with original narrow Tudor-arched door-head immediately to left. C20 brick lean-to to right. Undergoing works at time of re-survey.
