The following text is from the original listed building designation:
KIRKDALE TQ 7552 LOOSE (East Side) 6/184 Tylers 7.6.1978 GV II House, formerly cottages, now house. Late C15 or early C16, restored in late C20. Timber-framed, with plaster infilling. Plain tile roof. 1½ storeys, on stone plinth. Facade apparently divided by principal posts into 2 short central bays, with very narrow "marginal" bay to left and right, and storeyed end bays, that to right longer. Broadly-spaced close-studding. Higher midrail to right central bay. Tension braces to right end bay and to outer side of each central bay. Right gable end has tension braces from cill to post-heads. Hipped roof, with gablet to right. Brick gable end stack to right and ridge stack to right of right central bay. 3 large C20 hipped dormers. Irregular ground-floor fenestration of 4 leaded casements. Ribbed door in C20 wooden porch across 2 central bays. Timber- framed rear wing to centre, also close-studded, with tension braces. Interior not inspected.
