Dendrochronology dating of the open hall and parlour end of the house gave a date range of 1446-1481. (3)

EAST SUTTON EAST SUTTON ROAD TQ 84 NW (west side) 5/79 Noahs Ark Farmhouse II*
Farmhouse, now house. C14 or early C15, with mid C16 alterations addition of early C17, and C19 facade. Timber framed. Ground floor clad with painted brick, first floor tile-hung. Plain tile roof. 2-bay open hall with storeyed bay to left (west) 2 storeys and attic. South (rear) elevation: left gable end jettied, with ogee tension brace to ground floor and plain doorway to "rear" end of first floor. Roof hipped to left with gablet. Multiple brick ridge stack in "rear" slope of roof towards right end. Gabled dormer. Irregular fenestration of 2 ovolo-moulded mullion windows; one 4-light to left of centre and one 3-light beneath stack. Diamond mullion window to ground floor of left gable end. Early C17 two-storey stair turret of 2 timber-framed bays, projecting forwards to left end, with jetty to left side continued from jetty of main range. Ribbed door in right side of turret, up 4 steps at junction with main range. 4-centred arched doorway with moulded jambs and hollow spandrels to "rear" wall of main range. Lean-to to right. Interior: Exposed framing. Large ogee braces to left end of hall. Moulded and brattished end of hall beams. Moulded crown-post. C16 inserted floor with moulded beams and cornice to hall, and moulded beams to first floor left end room. C16 fireplace to hall with moulded wooden architrave and four- centred arch with blank shields and long leaf spears. Doorway with 4-centred arched head with hollow spandrels either side of fireplace.
