ASH TR 26 SE WESTMARSH 2/98 Wingham Barton Manor 11.10.63 GV II*
House. C15 or earlier. Timber framed and close studded with plaster infill, brick herringbone nogging on left return, and tile hung wing. Plain tiled roof. L-shaped building of at least two periods. Two storeys, with continuous jettied range to left on dragon posts. Hipped roof with gablet to left, stepped up to right hand range with projecting hipped wing, also with gablet. Stacks to right, and to rear right and rear left. Irregular fenestration of five 2 and 3 light wooden casements on each floor with rib and stud door to centre right in moulded four centred arched surround. The building is associated with the late C13 College at Wingham, and parts of it are reputed to date from that time.

A complex building of which one part is medieval and the other is 16th or 17th century. The medieval part consists of a two storeyed structure, jettied to the front and one end. In the 16th or 17th centuries a large wing was built across the southwest end of the medieval range (2)
