CHILHAM THE STREET (north side) Clifton Cottage

(Formerly listed under HIGH STREET, previously listed as Thanet Cottage and Clifton's, HIGH STREET)

GV II House, former house and shop. C16 and C18. Timber framed, clad in part in red brick, plaster and tile hanging, with plain tile roof. Left block: cross wing, plastered timber frames with first floor jetty: roof hipped end-on to street. Right block: early C18, red brick ground floor, tile hung first floor and hipped roof with end stack to right. Irregular fenestration of 3 wooden casement windows to first floor, with bay window to ground floor of cross wing; 3 C20 glazing bar sashes to right of round floor. C20 panelled door in angle of 2 wings.
