During excavations undertaken ahead of works associated with the Channel Tunnel Rail Link at Springhead, near Gravesend, a pair of Shallow gullies were uncovered. These were located towards the northern end of the site, approximately 90 to each other. They may have formed part of an enclosure or field system adjacent to the Ebbsfleet. The dating of theses gullies is provisional, and they have been tentatively assigned a late Bronze Age or early Iron Age date. (1-2) Further excavations at springhead, to the east of these features, revealed evidence of a Bronze Age field system, it is possible that these gullies are associated with this collection of features.
