Summary

A Bronze Age ditch and pit were found during excavations in High Halstow. The pottery assemblage removed from the fill of these features was dated to c.1500 - 1000 B.C. It was thought that the ditch was most likely some form of land boundary.

Two trenches excavated , at High Halstow, shows archaeological features. Trench 4, fragments of pottery were found and are dated to 1500 - 1000 B.C. Trench 5 has a ditch and irregullar pit were found. The ditch may poss. be some form of land boundary. Pottery fragements, identical to those in trench 4, were also found in trench 5.(1) " Additional Bibliography ".(2, 3)

Medieval remains also reported but no further information.
