MD pottery found in trench at rear of No. 39 High St., Sandwich. This produced 14 fragments of peg - tile, 13 pot sherds, 1 fragment of early yellow brick, 6 pieces of bone and an oyster shell. The pottery is of MD date, AD 1350 - 1450. Sherds of imported ware, saintonge and Langewehe, have also been found. The site suggests no pre-C14 activity, as no structural remains were recorded and by the dating of finds.(1)
