Chalk pit present on 1st ed OS 6" map, sheet 24 (1). Described as 'Old chalk Pit' on 2nd ed 1898 map (2). Disused by 3rd ed 1908 map (3). Identified in KCC survey (4) and recorded on site photographs (5-10).
