EM settlement discovered by CAT at site of Channel Tunnel terminal. No further details as yet. (1) Site dating to c.AD 725, on a high plateau at Cherry Garden Hill. 2 groups of intercutting rubbish pits containing pottery, animal bones and sea-shells, reveal the presence of an isolated habitation site. No trace of a house found, but position of pits may reflect the position of a building which was removed by ploughing. (2)
