She is reported to have been visible in 1986 lying in the hold of York, at Chetney Marsh Creek (1). On the aerial photographs this site appears as one of 8 barges lying at the edge of the marsh. KCC 1961 Line 7: 6858 shows the group at low tide. The area is not covered on the 1985 survey. On the 1990 survey the group is visible but appears to have become more covered by mud. Those to the north are particularly difficult to discern as separate entities. Carlotta was built in Rochester in 1892. Her owners are noted successively as Hills, Hutson, L.R.T.C and the War Department. She finished sailing in 1940. (1)

Position of point based on 1946 aerial photograph (2,3) and possibly identified during 2002 survey (4).
