Method of Fix: Aerial Photograph Interpretation Photograph Number: KCC 1961 Line 6: 2050 Method of Fix: Aerial Photograph Interpretation Photograph Number: KCC 1985 Line 7: 6385 Registered No. LONDON 110063 A barge lying in the channel. It also appears on the 1967 survey (KCC 1967 Line 33: 1261). On the the 1985 survey it can be seen with its southern half surrounded by saltmarsh. The 1990 survey photograph not available during search. This barge has been identified as Meridian. She was built at Rochester in 1899 and successively owned by Knight, Grandsen and Allsworth. She was derelict in 1943 and her remains were visible in 1986. (1). Site identified during 2002 survey and notably, saltmarsh accreting around and within hulk. Excellent survival of attached rudder (2).
