12.6.74 The Old Forge and Old Forge Cottage
II
From internal evidence part of a late C14 "hall house". Two storeys brick and weatherboarding. Half hipped roof with 2 "eyebrow" dormers with casements. Long window under eaves at south end. Modern additions and C19 cottage at north end. Internally large timbers, 2 centred arch to service doorway and crown post roof with braces. Collars jointed with open tenons.

Timber framed house with a formerly open 2-bay hall and one end (probably the former service end) of a small unjettied or end jetty house. The other end was demolished. There were later alterations and the addition of a 17th century range. (2)
