The original plan is uncertain but some features suggest that there was an open hall and floored upper end bay. In the post medieval period another bay was added to the south of the original structure and the house was widened at the front.

Rype Cottage A timber framed house of 4 large bays formerly with a single aisled only at rear. The original plan is uncertain but some features suggest that there was an open hall and floored upper end bay. In the post medieval period another bay was added to the south of the original structure and the house was widened at the front.(1)
