[TQ 62575080] Moat [G.T.] (1) Moated Homestead (2) Small homestead moat in fair condition. The island is a small plantation. The south and west arms channel a fairly strong stream, but the other two sides are now dry. An antiquity model survey has been made. (3) This moat belonged to the manor of Fromund's but was not a manor house site. It was probably superseded by the house now known as Spring Place. (4) Checked and correct; published 25" survey correct. (5) TQ 525508. Hadlow moat, listed as a moated site in the county checklists for Kent 1977 and 1979. (6-8) Photographs (9-10)
