Extent of the village of Chilton as visible on the 4th ed. OS map (1929-1952). (1)
There has been little further growth on the 3rd ed.(1906-1923) OS map. (2)
By the 4th ed. (1929-1952) there has been extensive development of streets and mainly terrace houses.to the east of the village. Boered in the north by the railway and to the south by Downs Road. (3)
This growth fills the space between the expanding development of Ramsgate sumsuming the village.
