A fighter pen of Second World War date was visible as a structure in RAF/HLA/564 V 6029 01-JUN-1942. The E-type fighter pen stood in the south-east corner of RAF Manston's grass outfield. It had been demolished by April 1944 (US/7PH/GP/LOC286 V 5010 19-APR-1944). It was recorded as a levelled earthwork in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021 and was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-3)
