RAF Manston's southern perimeter track of Second World War date was visible as a structure in US/7PH/GP/LOC286 V 5010 19-APR-1944. The extant perimeter track runs parallel to the south side of the crash runway, constructed in 1943-44 (Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021). In addition, part of the old course of the Cliffs End road was adapted and used during construction. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
