Elements of the Minster High Frequency Direction Finding Station (HFDF) of Second World War date were visible as structires in US/7PH/GP/LOC295 V 5010 20-APR-1944. It is not clear from the available aerial evidence when this station was established, but presumably in the late 1930s and by the beginning of the Second World War.
The site included three direction-finding towers and four small huts all accessed by a trackway network. The site was situated to the west side of a track leading between the now A299 and Plumstone Farm. The largest hut, standing alongside that track, may have been the crew quarters.
The site had been dismantled by 1954 (RAF/82/1006 F62 0009 31-AUG-1954) and was recorded as demolished and returned to farmland (Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021). It was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-3)
