The Margate Coastguard Station appear on the 1st (1862-1875), 2nd (1897-1900) and 3rd (1906-1923), by the 4th (1929-1952) the main building a been demolisd and only the row of cottages remain. The building was situated on the high ground overlooking the bay, when it was in active use there was an unobsucted veiw across the shore line.
