A military installation of Second World War date was visible as a group of structures on US/7PH/GP/LOC286 V 5008 19-APR-1944. The features were recorded as demolished structures on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. The site comprises two huts respectively 14.5m by 8m and 17m by 7.5m on plan standing on the east side of the track leading to Boxlees Hill Sewage Works. To their east, a 30m long trackway (mapped from RAF/2C/UK925 V 29 05-JUN-1942) passes from the huts to a small structure that may be a gun emplacement. The trackway turns to the north-east for about 53m, with two small huts standing on its north side. The site was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-3)
