Flood defences of medieval/post-medieval date were visible as levelled earthworks on OS/64018 V 72 12-MAY-1964, and recorded as levelled earthworks on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. The short length of defence includes a ditch flanked by banks just to the north of the old sea wall at Coxon's Hill, but is not recorded on historical Ordnance Survey 1:2,500 County Series mapping. This feature was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-3)
