Site of Deaf and Dumb Asylum , Victoria Road, Margate as shown on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Edition O/ S maps and the Margate Town map 8.7. The buildings have since been demolished.
The Royal School for Deaf Children, Margate was established in 1862. it was a branch of the London Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb which was developed by Rev. John Townsend to provide education for deaf children in 1792.
