Park road Recreation ground is visible on the Historic mapos of the area from the early 20th century and is still present today. The park contained a football ground and a pavillion on the 3rd edition OS (1) and by the fourth edition it also included a boating pond, bowling greens, tennis court and band stand (2). Many of these features have now been removed but the recreation ground still remains.
