Excavations in advance of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002-3 identified a number of Romano-British property boundaries west of the Ebbsfleet. Two short lengths of shallow gully were identified within property 10, approximately 3m from the edge of Watling Street. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)

Excavations in advance of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002-3 identified a number of Romano-British property boundaries west of the Ebbsfleet. Two short lengths of shallow gully were identified within property 10, approximately 3m from the edge of Watling Street. The interpretation of these features is not clear but they may have been marking out ditches associated with the construction of the road, and therefore have an early date. (1)
