Excavations in advance of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002-3 identified a number of property boundaries west of the Ebbsfleet. A shallow gully was recorded within the eastern half of property 8. It was approximately 20 m back from the street frontage and was at least 10 m long which is likely to have marked a boundary within the property, and it may be significant that all of the dozen or so pits which survived in this area lay to the north or east of this feature.
