Excavations in advance of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002-3 identified a number of property boundaries west of the Ebbsfleet. A line of post holes were located along the western boundary of property 8, between the property and the branch road. It seems likley that these represent the former site of a fenceline in this location. A dozen post-holes were identified in total, they were preserved in a narrow strip over a distance of approximately 20 m along the edge of the road. These post-holes were smaller and less regularly spaced than was sometimes seen elsewhere, for example in property 7, and the line did not continue as far north as the edge of the excavation. (1)
