Excavation in 2000-2002 carried out as part of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link found a complex of shallow pits which contained the remains of a neonate and a disturbed in situ burial. The burials were accompanied by three heavily truncated pots and sherds from a fourth vessel. Two further pits, one cutting the grave, also contained neonate burials. Together they form a distinct group and may be associated with the mid Roman building which is located less than 20m to the north west. (1)
