Summary

During works associated with the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002, three late iron age pit groups were discovered, within a larger late Iron Age Ritual Landscape and close to the site of a possible rocessional way. The second of these pit groups comprised three relatively shallow pits. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)

During works associated with the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002, three late iron age pit groups were discovered, within a larger late Iron Age Ritual Landscape and close to the site of a possible rocessional way. The second of these pit groups comprised three relatively shallow pits and a possible three-throw hole, all of which contained late Iron Age pottery. A short distance to the north of these were the remains of a probable hearth, also of late Iron Age date, and possibly associated with the nearby pits. (1) (information summarised from source)
