A few late Neolithic sherds and worked flints found but the occupation sequence commences with an agricultural phase, highlighted by the survival of parallel rows of "ard" marks showing in the underlying natural deposits. The early field was eventually covered by a small settlement with a track/hollow way. Post holes mark the location of timber-framed huts and fence lines established there during a long occupation sequence. The majority of pottery is that of the Beaker tradition, rendering the site very important- no other Beaker domestic site has been located in UK. (1)
