During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit a chalk block drain was located in the south east corner of the fort at the Battle of Britain Homes Site in 1971. It was traced for a total distance of 3.5m running eastwards along the latest external wall of a barrack block (B24). (location accurate to the nearest 2m based on available information)

It was traced for a total distance of 3.5m running eastwards along the latest external wall of a barrack block (B24). It had chalk block sides and capstones and was 30cm wide by 30cm deep. (1)
