Court-le-Street, Aldington. In 1850 an Anglo-Saxon inhumation cemetery was said to have been disturbed on the brow of the hill at Marwood Farm. Many skeletons were disinterned, but no details are knowm.
The site lies on the brow of a south facing escarpment overlooking Romney Marsh, underlying geology Hythe Beds. OD 75-85m.

In 1850, and Anglo-Saxon cemetery was cut through on the brow of the hill at Marwood Farm, Court-le-Street. Many skeletons were found but no details of other finds are recorded. (1) Sited to TR 08163519. (2) The gardener at Fostums Land, Mr Hooker, was told by his father that the cemetery was dug by Miss Evelyn Blomfield daughter of a Vicar of Aldington over 70 years ago. He was shown the site by his father at TR 08253518. (3) TR 081352. Court-le-Street, Aldington.
