Human skull from gravel pit near Dartford, post-Palaeolithic. Found in 1902-07 by WM Newton (1) apparently donated by Newton to the Royal College of Surgeons and showing no primitive features (2). Location of pit corroborated by Shephard-Thorn who quotes Newton (3).
