Surface find of a rectangular flint core-tool, white-patinated and bifacially worked with patches of orange-brown staining on one side. Found on field surface in August 1988 by Jill Bowers (1) and identified as Palaeolithic handaxe by G Halliwell, although from illustration (1) it could equally be a Mesolithic pick. Mentioned by Halliwell and Parfitt 1993 (2) and included in the Southern Rivers Project (3, 4)
