Several handaxes "of the Chelles type" reported by Dewey & Smith (1), donated by Ince to British Museum. Roe (2) reported two handaxes from Stonerocks in the BM collection, and site later included in Southern Rivers Project (3, 4). Gravel bed at site reported as at c. 160ft OD (1), same height as deposits at Fordwich, and therefore potentially of similar great age.
