Swalecliffe foreshore, Worsfold's find of woolly rhino with flint flakes. According to Worsfold (1, 2) a woolly rhino tooth was found on the foreshore in situ in a deposit 12 feet below the top of the cliff, in association with flint scrapers of "Northfleet type" a point and flint flakes. His papers give details of the findspot location. It is possible he was correct, but it is more likely that the finds were reworked and embedded in the clay by wave washing. Mr Harvey confirmed the site location (3) and has in his possession a collection of flints obtained from the site while it was being eroded by the sea.
