In 1991 an assessment for the A260 Hawkinge to Denton by-pass and as part of it field walkingwas undertaken. Two worn and possible residual Roman sherds were found both late 1st to 2nd century, two sherds of non-Caterbury possibly East Sussex/Wealden sandy fabrics dating c. 1175-1250 witht her emmainder Tyler Hill sandy wares dating between c. 1250 and the late 15th century. Also found there was a blade flake of Mesolithic/Neolithic date. (1)
