It is probably the site of a mansion built as a vicarage in 1375. On the site of a deserted medieval settlment (see TR 16 SW 17) and within the area of it's scheduling. Two depressions to the north west possibly mark the site of outbuildings.

[TR 12876061] Ditch plain on west side of churchyard, remains on south, nothing visible on north or east. Traces of banks in field. Probably mediaeval. (1)

Within the pasture field to the west of St. Cosmus and St. Damian's Church, Blean, is an enclosure bounded on the north and east by a broad silted ditch (which in part follows the extremity of the churchyard and extends southward for some distance) and on the south, south west and south east of a level platform, 55.0m by 30.0m, which has been cut back into the natural slope, and has the appearance of a building site. To its north west are two rectangular depressions, respectively 25.0m by 10.0m and 18.0m by 7.0m in size, and 0.5m deep, possibly the site of outbuildings. Other minor and indefinite irregularities are visible within the enclosures. This is probably the site of the mansion recorded as built as a vicarage in 1375 (a). Surveyed at 1/2500.
