(TR 15395825. Sited from CAT Topo map). Archdeacon's House. (1-2) The Archdeacon's house, probably a complex of stone buildings was within the precinct of St Gregory's Priory but had a separate entranceon the east from Ruttington Lane. The Archdeacon of Canterbury is known to have been resident here from the mid 12th century, but may have had a house here from Lanfranc's time. The official residence was moved to Hackington in the early 13th century. (3)
