[TQ 907536]. A Mesolithic perforated pebble macehead, now in the Beaney Institute, Canterbury, was found in 1946 by Mr. J. Witherden on the surface of a field at Tophill Farm, Lenham. (1) Mr. Witherden was a gamekeeper at Stansted Court and this macehead was found when out on a shooting party. The find-site is as given to J. Bradshaw by Mr. Witherden a few years ago. (2)
