The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 944 NORTHGATE (North West Side)
Nos 66 and 66A TR 1558 SW 3/257 II GV
2. C18 facade to timber-framed building. 3 storeys stuccoed. Stone parapet. 2 sashes set in moulded architraves with verticals only. C19 shop front has cornice, 2 partly reeded and partly plain pilasters and folding doors with panelled risers. The rear elevation has a roof in 3 hips.
Nos 60 to 71 (consec) form a group.

Imported from the Canterbury UAD: Formerly known as the City Arms, 66 Northgate.
The inn closed in 1892 having previously been known as LION AND LAMB and PORTABELLO.
