Description from record TR 15 NE 203:
No 32 Northgate [TR 15295836 sited from OS 1/1250 1971]. Grade II. A timber-framed building altered in the 18th century. (1) No 32 Northgate. 16th century timber-framed building of two unit plan. (2)

The Canterbury UAD states that No. 32 Northgate was formerly an inn.
This inn was listed in the 1692 Licensing list. The Kings Head was located next to the Princess Alexandra, fortunate to avoid damage in the 1940's air-raids.

Licensing lists and directories give the following as innkeepers;
1792 Daniel Lepine.
1793 Ann Lepine (widow)
1803 James Lepine
1826 Flint and Reed were owners (brewer) with Ann Lepine still licence holder. Elizabeth Lepine also mentioned.
1950 closed as an inn. (3)

2. A timber-framed building altered in the C18. 2 storeys painted brick. Gable. Old tiled roof, 1 sash window. Early C19 shop front with pilasters.
Nos 28 to 37 (consec) form a group.
