Site was discovered by J Turner, probably in the 1920s (1). The artefacts came from a clayey layer rich in coarse angular flint pieces, below 6ft of brickearth that had been removed for brick-making. They were in fresh condition, and were mostly waste debitage. The industry and period of the site are uncertain. Material from the site seen by Roe in several museums, particularly the British Museum and Exeter Museum (2). Site listed in the Southern Rivers Palaeolithic Project (3, 4).
