Situated about 12m from the present house (turn of the century construction), the possible ice-well is entered through a central opening at the top of the beehive-shaped structure, which extends below ground level into chalk bedrock surmounted by loam. Completely underground, and built of a double brick skin. Poor quality of brickwork throughout. An underfloor drain is covered by a yellow brick floor. May have also been used as a cess-pit, as a square brick top has been added, and two ceramic pipes have been driven through the sides at a fairly high level. (1)
